While I was at work today I saw two pidgeons on the window ledge at little way from my desk. They often sit there. The same pigeons that coo and canoodle for a few hours.
I have called them Frankie and Alice. They also have a backstory..
Frankie is a bit of a rogue, you never know where you are with him. Alice is a sweet lass who comes from a well-to-do family. She is the favourite of all her siblings because she has a degree and a promising future.
Frankie is not the kind of lad that her parents would want their baby to be canoodling with so they keep their meetings secret on the ledge by my desk.
Romeo and Juliet with feathers and beaks.
Much like the age old tale, heartbreak reared it's ugly head.
Frankie said something to Alice and then flew away (I don't know what. I can't beak read).
She perched there with her little head down. He had clearly said something that didn't agree with her. He may have even broke her heart.
"That feathered fucker!" I scowled, under my breath. "How could he? How DARE he?!!"
Alice composed herself before flying away.
I shook my head.
A few hours later. Frankie returned.
He was not alone. He was with another. I'll call her Gina. They began to get frisky.
I began to get mad. I tried to supress my anger but the more I thought of the heartbroken Alice, the more enraged I became. Finally, I snapped. I couldn't take it anymore.
I leapt up from my desk, knocking over my seat and my coffee and ran to the window. I pointed at Frankie and shouted:
"YOU UTTER BASTARD! WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH HER, HUH? WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH YOU?! HOW COULD YOU BE SUCH A SHIT TO ALICE, HUH? ALL SHE DID WAS LOVE YOU AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY HER?...YOU MAKE ME SICK, MAN....SICK!!!"
Frankie flew away. My office was silent. All shocked and concerned eyes on me.
My boss came over and told me to stop being wierd and to put my trousers back on.
Sometimes my mind wanders, you know?
