Brighton Bound

This four day freakend I'm off on my travels to see good friend and fellow Blogger Stephanie. We're seeing The Go! Team and taking in the many cool bars dotted around the veritable fun-zone that is Brighton. We're also going to go to the cool, indie record shops and stock up on some bargains. I aim to purchase the entire Sleater-Kinney and Regina Spektor back catalogue. I have a list....

..I've also got some exciting blah, blah about a couple of things that are going on in Chris World but I'm trying to refrain from blogging about things before they happen..

..Does anyone else have a 'Three Text' rule? Where you text someone three times on your mobile and if you don't get a response you delete them? Is it just me? There is only so many times you can SMS an invite or query to someone in my book before it's time to goodbye their number...

..It's probably is just me.

Have fun this freakend...

there you are. I was worried that you were lost forever!

Indy Girl--I've heard great things about them. The record is wild so I'm sure the show will be..

indymtgpro77--People don't often say that to me. :)

It is going to be a fun weekend. :) If I bribe you with chips served in cones will you tell me about the exciting blah, blah? And I agree with you on the 3 text rule, but you need to allow for exceptional circumstances (people having temporarily lost their minds and/or mobiles). See you soon!

Yeah, you have to be careful and pick your strikes carefully. I just have some very lax friends of late and it's mostly due to them being loved up and oblivious to anything that isn't their girls. People should at least reply to 'are you still on for that drink?' 'what time are you coming?' or 'where are you???' ignorance like that is the basis for the 3 strike rule.

Brighton should and will be uber fun. I think may have told you the blah blah blah but I'm sure I'll have more stories to tell come tommorow. The seaside inspires...

Hi Christopher, I had wondered where you went.
Thanks for letting me know where to find you.

Thank you for coming along. I'm trying to be a more committed blogger. I've been a little lazy of late. :)

I wouldn't abandon your loved up friends just yet - just give them a casual reminder. They'll come to their senses soon enough.

Christopher D. Bate said...

It's my fault for being so forgettable...

Stephanie said...

It's not that and you know it!

Manners/decency go out the window when you start a relationship. Love is a funny beast. When the honeymoon period subsides (and it inevitably does) they'll regain their senses.

Christopher D. Bate said...

I don't miss the all-consuming nature of a relationship. I was pretty bad in mine so I can't complain too much.

Corinna--Sorry to alarm you. I didn't realise I could alarm anyone by not blogging. If I did quit I would always visit you, Gus and ABC.

Sarah--Ho hum? :)
Sorry about that last post. I was in a real bad mood with myself. it happens sometimes. Tantrums, tantrums..
Maybe it's a lack of ho-hum..

Have yourself a wonderful little weekend.

You too. Just getting ready to set off. Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' is playing on MTV2...always a good omen.

Maybe I should get a rule like that for my mobile - there's so many people there I don't call.
Looks like Brighton is your current destination of preference. I hope you enjoy yourself :)

three times are too many. and why should You text people? let them text you instead.

(i found out about the new url through devil mood, if you do it 2 more times, you are off my blogroll :)xx)

Three Text Rule? Essential for the modern world!

Brighton? Watch out for them gays, SexyGeek! :-)

JM said...

I have the same rule about my cell phone. If you ignore me three times either by SMS or calls, you get dropped. It's not just you.

Oh come on! Share!!

Christopher D. Bate said...

I don't have a three text rule but I do have a similar rule for email. If someone doesn't respond to say they've received something they're filtered into my tossers folder and I introduce a deliberate two hour delay in any replies. If they further offend me they get added to a list of people whose emails are deleted before they get to my computer.

Good luck in Brighton.

Jack P Toerson--Good plan. I think too much time is wasted chasing people. I know it sounds harsh but I get bored with keep sending the same message over and over. My friend has been really bad with that lately. It's because he's too loved up to reply. You know how it is; the blinkers come and on and everything else is irrelevant. Thanks for stopping by. I'll be sure to use the 'tossers' folder.

Devil Mood--Brighton rules. It's got everything you could need. There are too many cool bars and venues to list.

Chloe--I swear I posted a message about my move on your blog. I know I was having trouble commenting on some. (That's what I get for using the crappy work computers)
Please don't think I was being rude or anything.

Papa--I think everyone has been neglecting their blogs of late. Maybe it's the time of year. I don't know what I do without them though. Every blog on my link list is a sanity saver!

Handbag--A big post is coming. I'm sure Stephanie will post up the happenings.

spanna--I am? I always try to reply to you. How could I not? My phone isn't the best and I'm going to have to upgrade. I'd like to get rid of it completely but mobiles are far too essential these days.
Dan Project 76--I saw many. It's a haven over there. That's not a bad thing...not at all. It's that hearty mix that helps make Brighton special to me. I live in the Midlands where you get hassle for hair longer than a skin-head cut. Brighton is more liberated. That suits me.

Angel, jr.-- It's a good plan. It sorts the wheat from the chaff. It stops you wasting further time texting the ignorant. I'm glad it's not just me. :)

LeighAnn--Oh, it's coming. This is my first time on a computer since I got home..

oh there you are! you were so on the verge of being cast out of my bloggerati ;) have a fab weekend. i saw the Go Team last year and they were awesome.

Christopher D. Bate said...

didn't leave a comment about my move on your blog either? I really suck. I'm sorry about that. It didn't go quite as smooth as I thought it would...

zuzula said...

i even discussed it with Ms Handbag! she reckoned you just didn't get down as far as the zeds at the end of your roll. I'll accept that... unless I've somehow had my third strike and I'm out!

Christopher D. Bate said...

That's most likely it. I was in a rush on Friday and I was at work. I had to comment as quickly as I could. Some of the blogs wouldn't even let me post (or they wouldn't show) I was also hoping that people would spread the word and in many cases they did. Sorry again. :)

zuzula said...

blog etiquette, eh? no worries. I plan to keep coming here for as long as i'm welcome :)

Christopher D. Bate said...

You're always welcome.
