Better Off Better Off

Kylie and I watched the final cut of 'Better Off Inside', a film that's been produced by the good, no GRAND, folks at Minty Pineapple. When I watch anything I've been involved with with anyone, I get nervous. More so, I think, when you're tying to make your significant other proud. Thankfully, my kind of creative output is fun stuff and not some torture porn horribleness so people (friends, family and such) can at least get on board  without worrying about my mental state. (As I imagine Tom Six's family do when they watch 'The Human Centipede')
Kylie laughed and got on board. I didn't think that she wouldn't. I mean, I write with her and my friends in mind (hence the shed load of references and secret jokes in most of the films) so they know what they are getting themselves in for. She loved everything about it; the acting, the chemistry between the leads and the other cast members that show up and crank up the awesome. She particularly liked the addition of the music. We're big fans of Vincent E.L (and many, many more people should be) so his musical additions are always welcome. More so, if it's ill_eden, which soundtracks a lot of my writing, walks to work and mental motivational pep talks (I have pretty bad anxiety issues and whatever works is welcome)
My Dad is very excited about it. He's always been a huge supporter of me writing. He knows that it takes me elsewhere and helps. He used to buy me pens and pads of paper as a kid as it was a fun (and cheap) way of keeping me happy. I was never really one for loads of cool tech toys. Getting a note book and a new pen at Christmas is always a gift that I appreciate. I hope I can do more for him. My brother too. Nick is always a major influence on most of my life choices (fashion and TV in particular) so the films always need to appeal to him. As we've got older, we have gotten nerdier so treasures on the net are always welcome. I hope we have added to that. I think we have.
I can't say enough good things about 'Better Off Inside'. I am top-to-bottom proud of it. I think it's amazing that people from across the pond have put so much effort into something I've written. It blows my mind, it really does.
It deserves to do well. The whole Minty Pineapple gang deserve success, even if I'm forgotten and reduced to turning up all bearded and trampy at their future premiers. I'm sure that won't happen as I have plans to buy a large country home with a large, man maid lake with sharks inside.
The coffee is good today.

So, it’s 2018. I’m staring down the barrel of my 40’s but with the same goofy mindset I honed in my 20’s. Mentally, it doesn’t feel as bad a...
