Jurassic 5 were awesome, just awesome.
Myself, Blair, Adam, David J and Mans had a great time, all bobbing and hand gestures hip-hop style. To make things that little bit cooler, we even stood near the legend that is Chali 2na before he went on stage. I've never been to a more unified, chilled out party (Because it was more a party than a gig) before and I highly, highly recommend catching them if they play your way.
Peace.

So, it’s 2018. I’m staring down the barrel of my 40’s but with the same goofy mindset I honed in my 20’s. Mentally, it doesn’t feel as bad a...

Great description "bobbing and hand gestures hip hop style"--makes it sound really fun.
I may yet give up my love of rock and roll and embrace old school hip hop full time. I've been practising a pretty mean lean...
..with attitude.
Some of the best stone gigs hippy vibish-gigs I've been to have been hip-hop and hip-hop related. One of the best, non-bullshit shows/performances I've been to was a scratching competition a few years ago. Nobody with attitude, nobody too drunk to listen... everyone just flowed and enjoyed the crazy shit/artistry of the DJs. Nice.
I highly doubt they'll be my way anytime soon. But then again, the Stones played here last weekend (blech)...
Greg--It's amazing how much of a bad rep hip hop shows get. People confuse them with rap shows; all thuggish gimmicks and silly attitude (50 Cent and the ilk) when they're usually the most uplifting gigs you can go to. I'm always old school. It's just better music.
Cathy--I'm sure they'll stop by sometime. They did say they were touring more.
Never heard of them but if you had a good time, I trust your word!
A friend of mine started a "hip-hop that doesn't suck" program for me last year, and as a result I've seen some way cool stuff this year. The get-the-audience involved mentality is a whole different vibe than my usual indie-rock shows.
PS - Regarding previous post. Hair does not make the man, but I have a blue china doll wig you can borrow 'til it grows out :)
Maybe I should do a rap record...if Ryan Adams can do one..
